10:00 start of the tour;

On this day we will drive to Mtskheta, former capital and one of oldest cities of Georgia.
First, experience Jvari Monastery, a Georgian Orthodox monastery of the 6th century. Next, you will drive to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral built in the 11th century, which was the main pilgrimage place on the Silk Road, the burial place of Christ's robe and the tomb place of Georgian Kings. The cathedral is listed in UNSECO World Heritage Site along with other historical monuments of Mtskheta;

Next we will drive to Chateau Mukhrani, where we will visit the castle and wine cellar. The castle was designed by French architects, Ivane Mukhranbatoni began construction of the castle that took 12 years to complete. The huge venue was a cultural centre for the Georgian elite. Underground cellars comprised 20 compartments. The main tunnel connected the winery and the castle. To complement the modern winery the chateau cellar was restored to its original historical design. Today the cellar stores 60,000 barrels of wine at a constant fifteen degrees Celsius. Here we will have wine degustation of 4 types of wine.

Next will drive to Tbilisi, capital city of Georgia, founded in 5th century. During our city tour we will visit old city, Metekhi church, Rike Park and then we will climb up by the cableway on the Narikala fortress, from there opens the most extraordinary view of the city. After you will visit the famous Tbilisi sulfur bathes and Legvtakhevi;

Day 3: Tbilisi – Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking - Vineria Kakheti- Sighnaghi – Tsinandali

On this day we will visit Kakheti region, east Georgia, which is the heart of Georgian viticulture.
Our first stop will be Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking factory in Sagarejo, producing and keeping wine and brandy. Current liquid capacity - 15 million liters, you will have the tour in wine factory and wine degustation.
Next we will visit Vinery Kakheti, wine cellar where we will come across with pitcher, and taste wine made with Georgian technology.
Next stop will be Sighnaghi. Town is located in the eastern part of region, which sits atop a bluff overlooking the Alazani Valley. Its charming cobblestone streets and alleys, restored original nouveau woodwork, and detailed facades give the town a romantic mystique. With the surreal views of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, Sighnaghi is one of the most beautiful towns in Georgia;

Our final destination for day is Tsinandali Estate, which is the cradle of classical winemaking of Georgia, the place where Georgian wine was first bottled. The complex in tsinandali embraces the memorial house, a landscape garden, a historical winery, wine cellar, hotel and a café. The vineyards have been restored and wine production has resumed. During the tour you will look into the background of the noble Chavchavadze family, who played a significant part in the national history; enjoy the views of the garden, have a look at the winery and sample the Georgian wines;

On this day our first stop will be Alaverdi Monastery was built in the 11th century by Kakhetian King Kvirike on the remains of a monastery established by Joseph, one of the thirteen Assyrian Fathers in 6th century. In 2007, Alaverdi Monastery was listed as a Tentative Heritage site by UNESCO. Here we will have degustation of monastery wine, Monastery Wine ” is a millennium brand of Alaverdi Monastery Cellar made by the Alaverdi Monastery congregate in the XIth century cellar. The wine is produced by endemic variety of Kakhetian vine in unique clay vessel – Qvevri. Alaverdi Royal Monastery is historically known by its qvevris and cellar.
Next drive to Wineria Khareba, which represents an unique and rare wine cellar located in Kvareli, in the Alazani Valley. Carved inside the Caucasus mountains, the cellar/tunnel is 7,7 kilometers long. The best wines of the Kakheti region have been stored and aged here for decades. The tunnel preserves a natural temperature of 12-14° Celcius and has naturally the ideal conditions for wine preservation. After wine tasting tour, you will have Georgian cooking masterclasses, including: Khachapuri; Georgian bread.

Day 5: Tbilisi- Goristsikhe - Uflistsikhe – Kutaisi

On this day we will drive to the western part of Georgia. Our first stop will be Uflistsikhe , literally ‘Fortress of God’, is an ancient rock-hewn town which played a significant role in Georgian history over a period of approximately 3,000 years. Archaeological excavations have revealed extraordinary artifacts dating from the late Bronze Age all the way up to the late middle Ages. Uflistsikhe was an important religious, political and cultural centre in the Hellenistic and the late Antique periods.
Final destination for the day is Kutaisi, which represents one of the oldest cities in Europe. Kutaisi and its surrounding areas are distinguished by the beautiful nature and abundance of cultural monuments. In Kutaisi we will visit Gelati monastery, the monastery was founded by the king of Georgia David IV the Builder in 12th century. The Ensemble includes a different period (mainly XII-XIII cc) Buildings. It is included in UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Next we will visit Bagrati Cathedral, which has special place with it’s architectural and artistic dignity in the history of Georgian architecture. Historically, it is a symbol of united Georgia.

Day 6: Kutaisi-Terjola –Shaori – Nikortsminda- Ambrolauri

On this day we will drive to Racha, in the north-eastern part of West Georgia. This region is known for the beautiful unattached nature, local cuisine and Khvanchkara wine. On the way to Nikortsminda, we will stop in Terjola and visit winery Khareba winery, located in Imereti region, winery is equipped with modern machinery including stainless steal tanks. Here, is produced premium still and sparkling wines.8000 years old winemaking method and innovative achievements of the 21st century are combined in the Terjola cellar. This is a place where more than 40 kinds of wines are produced using more than 20 different indigious grape varieties.
After wine degustation in Terjola winery we will drive towards to Racha through Nakerala Pass you will come across Shaori lake, with marvelous views. Next stop is Nikortsimnda cathedral, which is known for amazing ornaments and ancient frescoes. Nikortsimnda was built in 11th century by the king of united Georgia Bagrat III. Frescoes dates back to 16th-17th century.

Day 7: Ambrolauri – Khvanchkara – Barakoni – Tbilisi

On this day we will drive to the village Khvanchkara on the place of the Cellar of Prince Kipiani in 1927 Khvanchkara Winery was built. The wine-makers who have been working in the Winery for decades, passed on the Kipiani method of Khvanchkara Winemaking to the new generation that continues this fine wine making tradition.
“Khvanchkara production” was started by the Georgian Noble, Dimitri Kipiani in the 1880s. He made perfect demi-doux (semi-sweet) red wine from Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli unique grape varieties by the incomplete fermentation method. It was called “The Kipiani Wine”.
In 1907 Dimitri Kipiani sent his wine to the city of Osten in Belgium, where the European Wine Festival was being held. To everyone’s surprise, The Kipiani Wine was granted the Gold Grand Prize, which is kept at the Georgian National Museum today. This was a great victory for Georgian wine making and personally, for Prince Kipiani. After wine tasting we will drive to
Barakoni Church of the Mother of God, commonly known as Barakoni is an Orthodox church in Georgia, near the town of Ambrolauri, in the village of Tsesi of mountainous western province of Racha. Afterwards we will drive back to Tbilisi.
