Alanya, Turkey

Alanya Turkey

Alanya is a resort town on Turkey’s central Mediterranean coast (also known as the Turkish Riviera). Among its wide, hotel-lined beaches is Cleopatra Beach, where legend says the Egyptian queen once swam. Alanya Castle, a vast Seljuk-era fortress turned into an open-air museum, stands on a rocky headland along the shoreline, next to red-roofed Ottoman villas and the Octagonal Red Tower, a symbol of the city dating back to 1226.
