Bari (Province) Italy

The arable land in the former province of Bari is used to grow olives and grapes, as well as cherries, peaches, and almonds. From this agricultural activity come olive oil, wine, and table grapes. Bitonto is especially noted for its extra virgin olive oil, and Corato, Coratina, and Giovinazzo are also notable producing areas. The main centers of wine production are Gravina and Ruvo di Puglia in the north of Bari, and Adelfia, Noicattaro, Rutigliano, and Locorotondo in the south. Cherry production is also important; the Apulian red variety is especially common in the countryside around Turi and Putignano.
