Lloret de Mar is a resort city located on the Costa Brava, to the northeast of Barcelona. Castle of Sant Joan The castle is perched atop a hill that separates the beaches of Lloret de Mar and Fenals. It dates back to the early 11th century, possibly to the era of Lady Sicardis and her sons, the Lords of Lloret, when it governed the feudal territory of Lloret. The Castle of Sant Joan is deeply intertwined with the origins of the town of Lloret. Santa Clotilde’s Garden This stunning garden, landscaped atop a cliff with breathtaking sea views, exemplifies the spirit of the Noucentista movement in Catalonia - an early 20th-century intellectual and aesthetic renewal movement represented by the writer Eugeni d'Ors. The Santa Clotilde gardens were designed in the style of the elegant yet austere gardens of the Italian Renaissance by Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí when he was just twenty-eight years old.
